• Designers have a responsibility to design products that meet the needs of everyone in society
• Different group within society also have different needs, which designers must take into account. It is important that designers take into account the needs of all groups of people, including those with a disability
• Motor neuron disease is a degenerative disease that leads to muscle weakness and wasting. Eye movement is more resistant to degenerative disease, and technology has been developed that enables people with motor neuron disease to control computers with just their eyes
• Older people are one of the largest groups to use tablets. The main diference between a phone and a tablet is the size of the screen, so older people will find it easier to use
• It is important that designers understand different cultures so that the products thay design do not cause offence. E.g. colour can have different meanings in different cultures. In China red symbolises good furtune while in South Africa is the colour of mouring
