Nanomaterials

• Nanomaterials have tiny parts less than 100 nanometres in size. A nanometre is one billionth of a metre
• Nanomaterials are used as surface coatings or thin filsm, such as on computer chips. They are also used in sports equipment, such as tennis rackets and golf shoes, where nanoparticles are added to materials to make them stronger while not substancially increasing the weight
• Nanoparticles are found in clothing such as socks due to their antibacterial proterties, to reduce the absorption of sweat
