Warde and Hetherington carried out their research to find out whether sex typing of domestic tasks remained strong, there was still not equality between the couples. They found that women were 30 times more likely to wash the dishes than men and that men were four times more likely to wash the car. This shows that we still have traditional views on certain jobs within the family.
