  • Main Idea: holds the main point of an informational text.
  • Main Idea: a general statement that presents essential
    points that leads the reader to the right direction.
  • Deductive order: main idea is stated at the beginning and
    supporting details follow
  • Inductive order: supporting ideas are expressed at the beginning which build a coherent statement at the end
  • SUMMARY: a short restatement of the main idea of a text.
  • SUMMARY: cutting the original text and express it into your
    own words.
  • PARAPHRASING: a restatement in your own words of the main idea
    and supporting details of a text.
  • PARAPHRASING: It calls for a change of flow of ideas to make the
    original text clearer. Also, the paraphrase may be
    longer or shorter than the original text.
  • CONCEPT PAPER: an in-depth analysis of any idea, situation, or practice. It can be on anything significant—feeling, situation, cultural practice or belief.
  • Extended definitions: are essay length texts that use different rhetorical patterns or methods of development to show the meaning of a particular term or concept.

    • INTRODUCTION: Arouse the interest of the target reader by showing understanding of the mission.
    • PURPOSE:
    • Identify a problem or need of the reader that wished to address and justify the need of the proposed project.
    • PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Describe the activities that the project undertake to address the problem. Point out the strengths and the general impact of the project.
  • METHODOLOGY OR PROJECT DESIGN: Enumerate the steps/procedures to implement the project.
    • PROJECT NEEDS: Make a list of materials, personnel, equipment, and space that will be the needed to carry out the project. Include the cost estimate.
  • TIMETABLE
    Make an estimate of the time it will take for the completion of the project.
    • OBJECTIVES:
    • State the specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound (SMART) objectives of the project.
