substrate concentration

Cards (4)

  • ENZYME SUBSTRATE CONCENTRATION: catalase is an enzyme that is important for all living organisms. It removes dangerous chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide during cellular reactions.
  • low concentration of substrate: many enzyme molecules have empty active sites so the reaction is slow.
  • high concentration of substrate: most enzyme active sites contain substrate molecules and the rate of reaction increases.
  • at the high concentration of substrate, the enzymes are saturated. this means that the enxymes are all full, all binded to a substrate.
