  • Conditional statements
    Consist of a hypothesis and a conclusion, usually written in if-then format
  • Inductive reasoning
    • Example: Noticing all mice around are brown and concluding all mice in the world are brown
  • Deductive reasoning
    Conclusions reached are valid and can be relied on

    The practice of stating ideas clearly and precisely to arrive at a conclusion
  • Inductive reasoning
    Starting with specific observations or facts, and inferring a general rule or conclusion from them

    Reaching conclusions based on previously known facts
  • Conditional statements
    • Example: If all Filipinos eat rice, and Ronnie is a Filipino, then Ronnie eats rice
  • Deductive reasoning
    • Example: Knowing all pennies are copper-colored, concluding a penny given will be copper-colored
  • Conclusion
    States what needs to be proven, found in the "then" part of the conditional statement
  • Conditional statement consists of a hypothesis and a conclusion, usually written in if-then statements
  • Hypothesis
    States the given facts assumed as true, found in the "if" part of the conditional statement
  • Converse of a conditional statement
    Formed when the "if" and "then" parts are reversed
