Scene 4 - Summary

• In Scene 4, Wagner engages in some banter with a clown and which he is insulted and then Wagner asserts that the fellow looks unemployed and hungry enough to sell his soul to the devil for some meat to eat
• In Scene 4, Wagner tries to recruit the clown to become his servant, but the clown seems unwilling - he then threatens him with magic by turning all the clown's lice into evil spirits that will tear him to pieces
• In Scene 4, after the Clown denies recruitment, Wagner calls up two devils, Baliol and Belcher, who chase the terrified clown
• In Scene 4, after the Clown is chased by the devils Baliol and Belcher, he is impressed by Wagner, so consents to serve Wagner if he will teach him to summon devils
