  • Flexor Carpi Radialis:
    O: Common flexor origin (CFO) on medial epicondyle of humerus
    R: Oblique: laterally & downwards
    I: Palmar aspect of base of 2nd and 3rd MCs
    A: Flexion and radial deviation of the wrist
    NS: Median Nerve (C5,6,7,8, T1)
  • Flexor Digitorum Superficialis:
    O: Long linear origin from two heads
    Medial: CFO, ulnar collateral ligament and the sublime tubercle (on medial coronoid process of ulna)
    Lateral: upper 2/3 anterior border of radius (anterior to oblique line)
    R: Distally and slightly laterally
    I: Forms four tendons that insert into palmar aspect of base of intermediate phalanx of four medial fingers
    A: Flexion of PIP, MCP and wrist joints
    NS: Median nerve (C5,6,7,8,T1)
  • Flexor Carpi Ulnaris:
    O: Two heads, Humeral head: CFO
    Ulnar head: Medial border olecranon & posterior border ulna
    R: Distally
    I: Pisiform
    A: Wrist flexion and ulnar deviation
    NS: Ulnar Nerve ((C7),C8,T1)
  • Palmaris Longus:
    O: CFO
    R: Distally
    I: Superficial surface of flexor retinaculum and palmar aponeurosis
    A: Weak flexor of the wrist & tightens the palmar fascia. May assist with flexion of the digits.
    NS: Median nerve (C5,6,7, 8,T1)
