  • Rules in the Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure 2013
  • When an employer has treated an employee unlawfully, such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, or unfair deductions from pay
  • C must fill in a ET1 form
  • If the employer does not respond, the tribunal may decide the case without the parties having to go to a hearing
  • Witnesses are only allowed if they can give evidence directly relevant to the case.
  • If successful, the tribunal can order the employer to pay compensation and any witness expenses, improve
    working conditions, or (if appropriate) give the employee their job back. This decision can be enforced by the courts.
