Rules in the Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure
2013
When an employer has treated an employee
unlawfully
, such as unfair
dismissal
,
discrimination
, or
unfair
deductions from pay
C must fill in a ET1
form
If the employer does not respond, the tribunal may decide the case without the parties having to go to a hearing
Witnesses are only allowed if they can give
evidence
directly
relevant
to the case.
If successful, the
tribunal
can order the
employer
to pay
compensation
and any
witness expenses
, improve
working conditions
, or (if appropriate) give the employee their job back. This decision can be enforced by the
courts.
