Process of analysing situation to identify strategies that can be used to change situation. Problem solving requires creative thinking.
Problem solving is a mental process that involves problem finding, which is the ability to identify the problem
The meaning of decision-making:
Decision-making is a choice made by using one's judgement

finding a solution to problem by choosing best solution or course of action
The difference between problem solving and decision making:
Decision making
Often done in one person/ member of senior management who makes it authoritarian
Various alternatives are considered before deciding on best one
Part of problem solving cycle as decisions need to be taken in each step

Problems can be solved by group/ team or an individual team member
Alternative solutions are generated/ identified and critically evaluated
