Quantitative chemistry 3

Cards (9)

  • What is the % mass of element?

    relative atomic mass of element/ relative formula of compound x 100
  • What is 1 mole?
    Avogadro's number= 6.02x10^23
  • Moles formula?
    Moles = grams/ RAMS ie relative atomic/formula mass
  • Concentration formula?
    Conc = moles/ volume (dm^3)
  • Converting volume of water
    cm^3 (or ml) -> dm^3 divide 1000
  • Percentage yield formula:
    total mass of products/ total mass of reactants x 100
  • What does percentage yield tell you?
    what mass of product is made in a reaction compared to the theoretical mass that could have been created.
  • What is atom economy?
    tells us how much of a desired product can be made in a reaction compared to the total mass of reactants (use RAMS)
  • Atom economy formula:
    RAM of products/ total RAM of reactants x 100
