    to prevent pathogens entering the human body

    the skin performs as a protective layer,consists of dead cells and is difficult for pathogens to penetrate

    its an oily substance the skin produces and can kill bacteria

    to stop this the skin scabs over

    the nose contains hair and mucus which trap pathogens before they enter the breathing system
  • Sometimes pathogens can get through the nose,what happens then ?
    the trachea and bronchi are covered in little hairs ,cilia,which are covered in mucus trapping the pathogen
  • What happens when the cilia traps the pathogen ?
    the cilia waft the mucus upwards towards the throat which is swallowed into the stomach
  • How does the stomach deal with the pathogen ?
    the stomach contains hydrochloric acid which kills the pathogen
