• Social mobility is changes in wealth, education & occupation over a lifetime.
• There has been an increase in participation in rugby & football for women which reduces stigma and stereotypes. However stigma still occurs.
• There has been a increase in media coverage for womesn sport so more role models and increase in participation.
• Still huge dominance in male sport covered bythe media but there has been an increase in female sports being aired as well as an increase in female presenters.
• Legislation that affects sport today is very rigorous & specific to sport. It has become more detailed & complicated over the years. There have been many high profile cases in sport that have involved negligence.
• Negligence - failure to take proper care over something eg scrum in rugby
• Litigation is a process of taking legal action.
• Criminal offence is an act that is punishable by law.
• Match fixing is when a sports competition is played to completely or partly pre determind results.
