    our body needs a lot of energy for contraction so the body reacts to the increased demand for energy

  • What does lactic acid do to the body when exercising ?
    causes the muscles to become fatigued and causes the muscles to stop contracting efficiently and the body has to remove the lactic acid
  • What happens when the body needs to remove the lactic acid ?

    lactic acid is transported out of the muscle by blood into the liver and converted back to glucose
  • What is oxygen debt ?

    the amount of extra oxygen needed by the body after exercise to deal with the accumulated lactic acid
  • What happens to the person during the process of oxygen debt ?
    the person continues breathing rapidly after finishing exercise
