• character - each person, animal, or imaginary creature that appears in a story
• another character from the story is the hero, it it the chief male or female character in a book, play, or movie, who is typically identified with good qualities, and with whom the reader is expected to sympathize
• villain on the other hand, is also another character from the story, this often refer to as the evil in a story
• setting- is the time and place in which the story unfolds the time could be in the past, present or future, during the day or night in any season. The place, or scene may be imaginary or real
• Story elements can be used by the reader to increase enjoyment and understanding to different literary pieces
• 5 important basic elements

• theme - the main idea or message of a text, often expressed in a few words or a sentence
