series circuit

• all components are connected in a line apart from voltmeter which are always connected in parallel
• if one component is missing, the whole system will not work properly.
• the total pd is shared across all the components
• the current throughout a series circuit is the same through all components
• total resistance is the sum of all the components in the circuit, if one component is removed the total resistance will decrease as their is more pd and current
