  • The aim always starts with 'to'
  • Hypothesis is an educated guess about what might happen, based on existing knowledge.
  • Aim is the overall goal or objective of your investigation.
  • Aim always contains...
    Independent and dependent variable
  • The independent variable happens first and we are changing it
  • The dependent variable happens second and we are measuring it
  • The control variable stays the same so the test can be fair
  • hypothesis must be a statement, must predict the outcome
and must contain the independent and dependent variable
  • After the experiment is done, draw up a table and graph. the independent must be on the right hand side of the table and on the x axis of the graph and the dependent variable must be on the left hand side of the table and on the y axis of the graph.
  • If the independent variable and the dependent variable have the same thing happen to the (both increase/decrease), it is directly proportional.
  • if the dependent variable decreases as the independent variable increases (or vise versa), the relationship is inversley proportional
  • If the dots are scattered and/or do not form a line, 1. do not try and connect it, 2. it has no relationship
  • What can you do to increase reliability?
Increase sample size and repeat experiment
  • The apparatus are the equipment used in the experiment
  • What does it mean when the dots are scattered on the graph?
    It has no relationship
