Hypothesis is an educated guess about what might happen, based on existing knowledge.
Aim is the overall goal or objective of your investigation.
Aim always contains...
Independent and dependent variable
The independent variable happens first and we are changing it
The dependent variable happens second and we are measuring it
The control variable stays the same so the test can be fair
hypothesis must be a statement, must predict the outcome
and must contain the independent and dependent variable
After the experiment is done, draw up a table and graph. the independent must be on the right hand side of the table and on the x axis of the graph and the dependent variable must be on the left hand side of the table and on the yaxis of the graph.
If the independent variable and the dependent variable have the same thing happen to the (both increase/decrease), it is directly proportional.
if the dependent variable decreases as the independent variable increases (or vise versa), the relationship is inversleyproportional
If the dots are scattered and/or do not form a line, 1. do not try and connect it, 2. it has norelationship
What can you do to increase reliability?
Increase sample size and repeat experiment
The apparatus are the equipment used in the experiment
What does it mean when the dots are scattered on the graph?
