Protein Synthesis

Subdecks (2)

Cards (36)

  • DNA carries genetic code to construct the protein.
  • Messenger RNA (mRNA) copies the DNA code and carries genetic information out of the nucleus.
  • Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) assembles proteins.
  • Transfer DNA (tRNA) carries amino acids to ribosomes.
  • DNA is the main instructions, and it cannot leave the nucleus, so we copy it. DNA is too big and valuable.
  • Complementary bases from the bottom strand will look like the top strand. A=U and G=C.
