  -Assists with allergies and inflammatory responses.

• Histamine causes blood vessels to dilate and increase blood flow to the skin.
• Macrophage:

  -Engulfs and digests pathogens.
• Memory cells:

  -Part of 3rd line of defence.

  -stores "memory" of pathogens.

  -Part of the humoral and cell-mediated response.
• Their are two types of memory cells memory T-cells and memory B-cells.
• Memory cells keep a memory of the antigen and can produce antibodies quickly if the antigen is encountered again.
• Memory B-cells can activate Plasma B-cells to produce antibodies
• Memory T-cells will activate cytotoxic T-cells which will go after infected cells.
