we have a system that allowscells through the body. If damaged cells manage to passthrough then they will do a process called celldivision and become out of control creating a tumour
What is a benign tumour?
they have a cell membrane around them, preventing cancer cells from escaping
what is a malignant tumour?
they don't have a membrane around them so can freely get into the bloodstream and appear somewhere else. This can lead to secondary tumours (metastasis)
