    Women are significantly effected by inequalities, particularly in terms of income inequality.
    Women tend to have greater expectations placed on them to care for their families and complete household jobs. This can mean that they have to choose between work and childcare forcing them into part time jobs which pay less wages.women earning significantly less and paying significantly less into their pensions than men over the course of their working lifetimes.

    The mother is the primary care giver in 75% of working households. 38% of women work part time compared to only 14% of men.
    Women are more likely than men to work part time as a result of being the primary care giver and experience income inequality as a result of this.

    There has recently been a rise in the number of stay at home dads.
    The domestic burden on women has decreased in recent years due to this progression in society.

    Recent figures have shown that the number of stay-at-home dads in the UK has increased from 105000 in 2019 to 141 000 in 2022.
    There has been a significant increase in the number of stay-at-home Dads as a result of the COVID19 pandemic and new ways of working. This has taken away some of the domestic burden away on women.

    Therefore, it can be argued that although the domestic burden is still placed on women, it has lessened in recent years.
