Speed

• Speed in measured in mps (Meters per second)
• Speed in calculated as: total time divided by total distance equals speed
• The instantaneous speed of a moving object at that very point in time.
• Relative speed is how fast one object is travelling compared to another object.
• Speed is the rate of change of position in a given time period. It is measured in metres per second (m/s)
• Average speed is the average distance travelled by an object over a period of time.
• Displacement is the distance moved in a straight line, in a given direction, from the starting point.
• Distance measures the length between objects or points without regard for direction.
• A distance time graph is often to show how something or someone moves or travels.
• The slope/steepness/gradient shows how fast or the speed that the object is going at
• A straight diagnal line on a graph suggest that it is travelling at a constant speed
• A curved line suggests that the speed is constantly changeing and is not staying the same at any point for a very long time
• a vertical line suggested the person or object is staionary or at a standstill for the given time
