    • Nociceptive Pain:
      • ‘Nociceptive back pain is pain that is evoked by noxious stimulation to any structure in spine’ (Bogduk, 2009)
      • Could be a noxious stimuli to any structure in the lumbar spine:
      • Can cause low back pain
      • With or without referred pain
      • And/or other signs and symptoms
      • Example: OA/spondylosis, facet joint strain, mild/low levels of IDD or Disc Bulge with no neuro (chemical irritation from associated inflammation)
      • referred pain / signs and symptoms depend on which structures are affected - if its gone all the way to affect the nerve/nerve root
