    Sheffield's steel industry collapsed
In 1984, unemployment in Sheffield was at 15%
    High levels of crime
Neglected properties were run down, infested with cockroaches
It became a 'no go area' at night due to it being so dangerous
  • Positives:

Popular with the buisness community (digital sectors with 200 businesses on site)
    High profile venue (music Festival)
  • Negatives:
Lots of the original residents wish to return, but can't due to less than a third being social flats, and there's not enough room
