Relative morality - The view that different situations require different actions.
This approach is teleological as it focuses on the purpose and reasons rather than the actions themselves to decide whether it is right or wrong.
The general rule of situation ethics is that the correct action should be the most loving action.
Positives of situation ethics: Individuals have control over their own lives and decision making; each situation is different so deserves consideration.
Negatives of situation ethics: Each person's definition of love is different so cannot ensure most loving action is always carried out; individuals can justify any action; there is no clear guidance for any situation.
