  • Histology

• Cytology - where tissues and body fluids are examined for the presence of abnormal cells
• Papanicolaou (Pap) smear - one of the most common tests performed in cytology
• Histology - where tissue obtained from biopsies, surgery, autopsies, and frozen sections are being processed
• Cytogenetics - the section in which chromosome studies are performed to detect genetic disorders
