Aversion therapy

• Applies personality theory to sex offenders
• Offenders are asked to think about an unacceptable fantasy until aroused - A negative stimulus is applied such as electric shock or a nausea drug
• This is then repeated until the two are associated with one another
• It has limited success 
• Only successful in short term
• It is criticised to be against human rights
