• • POTENTIAL ENERGY- it is describe as (energy at rest) it is also known as the (stored energy) in on object
• • FORMS OF POTENTIAL ENERGY - stored energy in objects due to its composition is also called (chemical energy) stored energy due to its position height is called (gravitational potential energy) stored energy in objects due to its structure stretched or compressed is called (elastic potential energy)
• ROLLING FRICTION - it is the (energy in use or in motion)
• the examples of kinetic energy - LIGHT, SOUND, HEAT, ELECTRICITY
• energy transformation - energy is not lost as it is used instead energy changes its form, moving changes potential energy to kinetic energy, stored energy becomes energy it use when an object moves, potential energy also changes due to position
• power plant uses a form of energy to run a machine called a generator
• geothermal power plant- uses the heat from the earth.
• wind farms- uses the kinetic energy to the wind to generate electricity
• hydroelectric power plants - uses the potential energy due to position and kinetic energy in the water to generate electricity
