structural
formula and the same
molecular
formula but
different
spacial
arrangements of the
bonds

rules:
Assign
a
priority
to the two atoms bonded
directly
to each
side
of the
double
bond
The Atom with Higher
atomic
number is given
higher
priority
If the atoms are the
same
then you look at the
next
atom in the group to assign a
higher
priority too.
If 2 highest atoms are either
above
or
below
double
bond then it is the
Z isomer
if they are
across
the
double
bond they are the
E isomer
