Branches of Science

• There are two ways of classifying science; Pure science and Applied Science
• Chemistry deals with the study of the composition structure, form, and

  physical and chemical properties of matter.
• Physics deals with the study of matter and energy, including light, sounds,

  electricity, magnetism, radiation, and motion.
• Astronomy deals the study of celestial bodies such as stars, comets, planets

  and galaxies.
• Geology is the branch of science that involves the study of the origin, history,

  evolution, and structure of the earth’s crust.
• Paleontology the scientific study of prehistoric life, based mainly on

  fossils of animals and plants.
• Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere that focuses on weather

  process and forecasting.
• Seismology is the study of earthquakes and the movement of waves

  through the earth.
• Biology is the study of living organisms and their vital processes.
• Botany is the study of plants.
• Zoology is the study of all aspects of animal life.
• Ecology is the study about the relationship of living organism with each

  other and their interaction with their surroundings.
• Genetics is study of the genetic make-up of living organism.
