• Natural hazard = 

  A natural event or process which causes loss of life and/or damage to property which creates disruption to human activities. 

  E.g. earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tropical storms, landslides. 
• Hazard risk = is the probability (chance) that a natural hazards occurs 

  There are 3 factors affecting hazard risk

  1. Vulnerability 
  2. Capacity to cope
  3. Nature of natural hazard
