Testing For Anions.

• Anion is a negatively charged ion. That is attracted to the anode in electrolysis.
• Carbonate Ions : Dilute Acid + Limewater. If Limewater turns cloudy - Carbon Dioxide is Present. Therefore, Carbonate Ions are present.

  
• Halide Ions: Nitric Acid + Silver Nitrate. Chloride: White, Silver Chloride. Bromide: Cream, Silver Bromide. Iodide: Yellow, Silver Iodide.
