Chapter 1: Notes on the Stave

• 1.1 Stave: Five lines, four spaces. Counted from bottom up.
• 1.2 Pitch: High/ low sound. Fixed, can fade but not go up or down by itself.
• 1.3 Clefs: Written at the beginning of the stave. Indicate the pitch. Treble and bass clef.
• 1.3.1 Treble or G clef is for high notes. Right hand for piano music.
• 1.3.2 Bass clef or F clef is for the low notes. Left hand for piano music. Dots on either side of the fourth line.
