rp 2: thermal insulators

• method - rp2:

  1. place a small beaker inside a larger beaker
  2. use a kettle to boil some water
  3. transfer 80cm3 of the hot water into the small beaker
  4. place a cardboard lid on the large beaker
  5. place a thermometer through the cardboard lid
  6. record starting temperature of the water & start a timer
  7. record the temperature of the water every 3 mins for 15 mins
  8. repeat experiment using the same volume of hot water, this time using an insulating material to fill the gap between the two beakers
