The Enabling Act

• In 1933, Hitler wins a majority in the election. Using the SA he intimidates the Reichstag into passing the Enabling Act
• The Enabling Act allowed Hitler to make laws without consulting the Reichstag.
• Hitler agreed Concordat with the Catholic Church. This meant that the government protected religious freedom and the church was banned from political activity
