Charles' Reaction

• I will rather die than yield to these impertinent and damnable demands. For all is one, as to yield to be no king in a very short time. I intend not to yield to those traitors like the convenanters - Charles June 1638
• The scene was set to armed conflict and to buy time Charles allowed  the General Assembly to meet in November 1638 it merely endorsed the Covenant as it showed that it had no trust in Charles
