The seven characteristics of living organisms are : Movement , respiration , growth , reproduction, sensivity , excretion and nutrition
Movement : An action by an organism or a part of the organism causing a change of position or place
Respiration : Chemical reaction that occutrs in the cell that breaks down nutrient and oxygen to produce energy and water for the metabolism . This energy is then used for a variety of life process , including : Movement , Growth , Excretion and reproduction
Growth : A permanent increase in cell number or cell size and dry mass by an increase in cell number , cell size or both. Growth is important as it increases the lifehood of survival -> An adult is more able to defend himself than an infant
Sensitivity : Ability to detect or sense a stimuli in the internal or external environment and to produce an appropriate response
Reproduction : Process that make more of the same kind of organism
Excretion : Removal from the organism of toxic m terial , the waste product of metabolism ( chemical reaction in cells , including respiration ) and substance in excess of requirement
Nutrition : Taking in of material for energy , growth and development .All organisms require nutrient for survival
