How many mesenteric vessels are needed to diagnose a stenosis?
At least 2 mesenteric vessels
Obstructed vessel will increase in diameter below point of obstructionand is caused by enlarged liver, pancreatic tumors, and late pregnancy
Obstructed IVC
Patients have chronic portal vein obstruction, extrahepatic portal vein is not visualized, echogenic area in porta hepatis, and periportal collaterals is present. PV is hepatopetal.
