Kristallnacht

• In 1938, a jewish man killed a german diplomat in Paris. The nazis used this as an excuse to launch a violent revenge on Jewish people
• The SS ran riot, smashing up Jewish shops and workplaces. 90 Jews were killed. 21,000 Jews were taken to concentration camps
• Kristallnacht was also known as "The Night of Broken Glass"
• After Kristallnact, Nazi policies towards Jews got increasingly harsh
• In 1939 there were 200,000 Jews in Germany, when there had been 500,000 in 1933.
