    Angelica - Captured by freezeframes by Rocket at the beach - an object to be looked at, something to be observed. Always seen with a man, whether its Tiago, Rocket or Benny. Refered to by Lil Ze as a 'bitch'. Uses her sexuality to get what she wants, but does have influence over Benny.

    Bernice - performance - shown doing the washing up, whilst Shaggy is stood doing nothing. Shown as an object of desire and lust for Shaggy. Mise-en-scene of the bedroom - pink, dolls and teddies - concept of youth being desireable. Dialogue - "Hoods don't stop, they take a break" some form of resistance. Has influence on Shaggy, persuades him to leave. Seen later on in the film with Pereira

    Marina - subverts all stereotypes, and this could be linked to the fact she does not live in the City of God. Stands up for herself against Rocket, argues back. Co-workers laughing at Rocket means she's respected by male counterparts. She's a journalist. Level of power, she offers Rocket a job, and then uses him for sex. Roles reversed
