Measles

• Measles is a very highly infectious disease
• First symptoms of measles is a fever
• Around three days, patient develops a red skin rash
• The measles virus is spread by droplets when an infected person caughs or sneezes. Virus then spreads to a different person where these droplets are inhaled
• Measles is a very serious disease - it can cause complications in body such as damage to breathing system and the brain
• In some cases measles can be fatal
• Most children are vaccinated against measles at a young age
