Cards (2)

  • The Pressure Law
    • When gas volume is constant, it adheres to the pressure law.
    • States that pressure (P) is proportional to the temperature (T)
    • As the pressure increases, so does the temperature (and vice versa)
    • P ∝ T --> Abbreviation of the pressure law
    P₁/T₁ = P₂/T₂ P₁ = Initial Pressure (kPa)
    T₁ = Initial Temperature (K)
    P₂ = Final Pressure (kPa)
    T₂ = Final Temperature (K)
  • Boyle's Law
    • States that pressure is inversely proportional to volume of gas
    • As the pressure increases, the gas volume decreases
    • P ∝ 1/V --> Abbreviation of Boyle's Law
    P₁V₁ = P₁V₂ P₁ = Initial Pressure (kPa)
    V₁ = Initial Volume (cm³)
    P₂ = Final Pressure (kPa)
    V₂ = Final Volume (cm³)
