  • Does not involve dragging up the past to describe present behaviours. so client anxiety is avoided, taking a free will stance such is positive for the individual
  • Encourages acceptance of the thinking process and for this reason is less frustrating to clients in comparison to CBT that can result in patients feeling guilty about their thinking processes whereas mindfulness tries to lead clients to acceptance.
  • It is easily accessible with thousands of courses across the country both online and in person which can benefit those who aren’t comfortable leaving the house
  • There is an issue with mindfulness being delivered by those who are untrained which is a concern for those who use mindfulness as a way of reducing the symptoms of mental illness. many practitioners may have only have one week of training before running sessions.
