  • Climate - is the general pattern of weather in a certain area over a long period of time.
  • Latitude - the distance to the north and south from the equator. measured in degrees.
  • Altitude - the height above sea level
  • The air temperature decreases as the altitude increases.
  • Land heats and cools faster than the sea. Coastal areas have lower temperature than inland. Places that are faraway from the bodies of water have extreme climates.
  • Topography - the natural features of arrangement of an area like land.
  • Ocean current - caused by the wind, earthquakes, gravity. Some currents are warm, and some are cold.
