  • The soruces where you can find saturated fat is in butter,cream,cheese,eggs,fatty meats and pastries,cakes and biscuits
  • The foods where you will find unsaturated fat is in avocado,nuts,seeds,vegetable oils,e.g.olive oil and oily fish
  • Omega-3 fats are a type of unsaturated fat found in oily fish,nuts and seeds.It is important for brain development and it helps to lower blood cholesterol levels
  • The Functions of fats is it produces heat and energy,Adipose tissue(a layer of fat under the skin)helps to keep the body warm,A layer of fat surrounds vital organs,like kidney&liver,to protect them from damage and Fats are a source of the fat-soluble vitamins A,D,E and K
  • Overconsumption of fats>1.Obesity:Fats are high in kilocalories. Eating too much fat causes weight gain and obesity. 2. Coronary heart disease:Too much cholesterol in the blood causes it to stick to the artery walls increasing risk of heart attacks.
