  • Relative pronouns - relate clauses to nouns or other pronouns in the sentence. These pronouns are that, what, which, who, whom, whose, whichever, whoever, and whomever .
  • Interrogative pronouns - are used for introducing questions. These are the pronouns what, which, who, whom, and whose .

  • Adjective + noun - The old book sat on the dusty shelf.
  • noun + noun - She placed the vase of flowers on the coffee table.
  • adverb + verb - He quickly ran to catch the bus.
  • adverb ( -ly ending) + adjective) - The sunset was incredibly beautiful.
  • adverb + adverb - The traffic moved extremely slowly on the congested highway.
