Experiment 1

• Participants were collected via opportunity sampling
• each clip ranged up a length from 5-30 seconds
• clips were made as part of a driver safety film
• after each clip participants were asked via questionnaire to give an account of the accident that they just watched along side a critical question
• what was the critical question ?

  “about how fast were the cars going when the each other ?” with 5 different verbs used in each group of 9 that the participants were split up into
• Participants estimated how fast they thought the cars went in mph
