terminal velocity

• if an object has no force propelling it it will slow down because of friction the force will need to balance these forces in order to travel at a steady speed
• you get friction between 2 surfaces in contact or through fluids which is drag
• a factor to reduce drag is keeping the shape of the object streamlined so the fluid can flow easily across it
• terminal velocity is where the falling object is accelerating because the force of gravity is more than the frictional force. But as it accelerates friction increases until it becomes equal to the force of gravity and will fall at a steady speed
