  • what is feedback?
    • define: information the athlete receies about their performance
    • it is used to:
    • identify errors
    • allows modification
    • reinforces learning
    • provides motivation
  • what are the types of feedback?
    • intrinsic - internal sources
    • augmented - external sources
  • what is intrinsic feedback?
    • more developed in associative + autonomous learners
    • visual:
    • performer can SEE where the ball landed (specific)
    • auditory:
    • hear the SOUND made by the ball hitting the racquet

    • knowledge of performance - information about EXECUTION of the task (technique)
  • how does frequency of feedback change according to the different stages of learning?
    • at early stage of learning need to provide feedback more frequently
    • as they progress, reduce frequency of feedback as they are able to self analyse to identify and correct their own errors
