Aromaticamines can be produced through the reduction of nitrobenzene. The reducing agent (tin or iron) will be mixed with concentrated hydrochloricacid and heated under reflux.
As the reduction of nitrobenzene occurs, a phenylammonium salt will form. This is then reacted with NaOH to give phenylamine.
